B-Alternative / Strawberry Fields

B-Alternative is a closed-loop waste management program operating at large-scale music festivals, providing reusable food and drink systems, on-site dishwashing, campground care, and audience education to dramatically reduce single-use waste.

I’ve worked with B-Alternative over the past six years to visually document their on-site activations, capturing how sustainability operates in real, high-volume festival environments. The goal of the work is to translate complex waste systems into clear, human-centred storytelling that can be used for brand communications, funding partnerships, and future festival pitches.

At Strawberry Fields Festival in Tocumwal — one of B-Alternative’s largest activations, with over 18,000 attendees — I was invited to photograph the program’s full operation. The festival had not previously been documented, making this a key moment to create a visual proof of concept.

The resulting imagery was produced for use across B-Alternative’s website, social channels, partner communications, and funding materials, helping demonstrate the scale, effectiveness, and lived impact of sustainable infrastructure in live event settings.
